Penerapan Integrasi mikroRNA dengan Eksosomal Royal Jelly sebagai Terapi untuk Memicu Proses Apoptosis pada OSCC
The potential anticancer properties of royal jelly for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) therapy are a novel area of research. These properties, acting as antioxidants and inhibit tumor growth and induce apoptosis in cancer cells. As the role of microRNAs in cancer biological processes, particularly in OSCC carcinogenesis, has gained importance, the potential synergy between royal jelly and microRNA in cancer therapy is an exciting but underexplored area. Our review comprehensively searched for articles of interest based on the keywords using the snowball method and medical subject heading (MeSH) technique through search engine databases. Royal jelly-combined bioactive compounds are conceptualized to be delivered within extracellular vesicles with microRNA integration. This subsequently targets the OSCC cancer cell, inducing an apoptosis mechanism. Royal jelly exerts an important function in cell metabolism; and this review is potentially exclusively describing possibility for the binding mechanism of royal jelly active compounds with the B-cell lymphoma (Bcl-2) protein and caspase-3 as a target. The delivery system associated with specific microRNAs, such as miR-9, will target the oncogenes of OSCC for tumor growth inhibition. This review will significantly improve the perspective on the royal jelly potencies with modified exosomal delivery and microRNA for OSCC therapy.
