IMPARTING QUALITY EDUCATION AND INSPIRATION FOR PARTNERSHIP TO ACHIEVE THE GOALS IN ANIMATED WORLDS
This qualitative study examines how cartoons broadcast by Pakistani and Western media impart quality education to young audiences on the first fifteen SDGs (2015) and inspire them to build partnerships to achieve them. Using purposive sampling, data were compiled from transcriptions of selected Pakistani and Western animated series available on YouTube. To analyse data comprehensively, this study formulated an analytical framework by combining Stibbe’s ecolinguistic model (2015), Halliday & Matthiessen’s three metafunctions (2014), and the UN SDGs (2015). The analysis sustains that, through the ideational, interpersonal, and textual functions of language, both types of animated media deliver quality education on the SDGs, inspiring a young audience to form partnerships to achieve the goals. Thus, this study highlights how the selected data from Pakistani and Western animated worlds delivered quality education to young audiences, making everyone’s lives better and developing partnerships to achieve the 15 aspects outlined in the SDGs, with some variation in focus. Keywords: SDGs, quality education, partnership, animated cartoons, learning, children, living
