Philosophical Thought in Gaming

Philosophy has been approached in a multitude of ways over the years as we progress. We discover new ideas and try to implement them to see if the results change with new information or a new understanding. And during our current time that new way of approaching philosophy could be through video games. With the advancement of technology we are able to bring these digital worlds to life and be a part of them. To have an impact on what happens inside them. So why can't we use these digital worlds to try new approaches on old questions. We may get the same result, or we may be surprised and find something new. Either way the process itself will lead to an even deeper understanding of philosophy. In this paper I will explain why I believe that the medium of video games could be used as a helpful way to dig deeper into philosophical theories. I will talk about how the control over these digital environments could allow us to take a step further than we could previously in testing these theories. And how the world of video games could allow us to test even more theories that were originally not feasible to experiment with.
