A Comprehensive Review of Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry

Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (LC–MS) is an advanced analytical technique that combines the separation capability of liquid chromatography (LC) with the identification and detection capability of mass spectrometry (MS). It is widely used in pharmaceutical analysis, drug discovery, bioanalysis, metabolomics, proteomics, and clinical research. Liquid chromatographers choose liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), which is rapidly evolving. The method known as liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) combines mass spectrometry with liquid chromatography, also known as HPLC. It is an analytical chemistry method that combines the mass analysis skills of mass spectrometry with the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography, also known as HPLC. (LC-MS/MS) is frequently used in labs for both qualitative and quantitative investigation of biological materials, drug compounds, and drug products. This review provides a quick overview of quantitative analysis techniques, which are among the most beneficial courses for scientific education. An overview of HPLC's applications and stationary phase is given. A brief discussion of the fundamental idea of mass spectrometry is given. This review's primary goal is to go over the most popular hyphenation method, liquid chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry [LC-MS]. The interface is crucial to the hyphenation process because it facilitates the transfer of eluent from liquid chromatography to a mass spectrometer.
