CULTURAL LANDSCAPE PERCEPTION AND INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE INHERITANCE IN DALI VILLAGE, GUIZHOU

Intangible cultural heritage represents the collective memory, cultural identity, and traditional knowledge of local communities, while its sustainable inheritance increasingly faces challenges arising from modernization, migration, and lifestyle transformation. Cultural landscapes provide important spatial and cultural contexts for maintaining and transmitting intangible cultural heritage; however, the relationship between residents’ perceptions of cultural landscapes and intangible cultural heritage inheritance (ICHI) remains insufficiently explored. This study investigates the relationship between cultural landscape perception (CLP) and intangible cultural heritage inheritance (ICHI) in Dali Village, Guizhou Province, using questionnaire survey data collected from local residents. Through descriptive analysis, reliability testing, and correlation analysis, the study examines residents’ perceptions of cultural landscapes and their willingness to participate in intangible cultural heritage inheritance. The findings reveal that residents generally demonstrate high levels of CLP and ICHI, and CLP is significantly positively associated with ICHI. The results indicate that stronger recognition of cultural values, historical meanings, and emotional connections with local landscapes can enhance residents’ willingness to preserve and transmit traditional cultural practices. This study highlights the importance of integrating cultural landscape conservation with community-based intangible cultural heritage inheritance. The findings provide practical implications for promoting sustainable heritage conservation and cultural continuity in traditional villages.
