Implementation of Fogging as a Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DFH) Prevention Strategy to Support Family Economic Stability
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains one of the major infectious diseases posing a serious public health threat in Indonesia. The disease is transmitted through the bites of infected Aedes aegypti mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus. Early preventive measures are essential to reduce DHF transmission, one of which is fogging as a vector control intervention implemented in 55 households in RT 005 RW 010, Warakas Urban Village. Such preventive efforts play an important role in maintaining family economic stability by reducing the risk of illness, healthcare expenditures, and productivity losses. The collaborative commitment of three higher education institutions reflects their social responsibility toward local communities through community service initiatives. This collaboration enhanced public awareness, promote the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices, strengthened community participation in dengue prevention. The program achieved full participation, with all 55 households actively supporting dengue prevention effort, thereby contributing to improved community health and the long-term economic resilience of families.
