ETHICAL BOUNDARIES OF PERSONAL AUTONOMY AND COLLECTIVE INTEREST IN SOCIAL COMPROMISE
Social compromise is analyzed not as a simple balance between individual choice and collective interest but as a problem of justifying the conditions under which one may legitimately constrain the other. Autonomy is understood not as isolation but as the capacity to understand reasons and retain a voice in decisions affecting one's life plan. Collective interest is not equated with majority preference; it is tested through harm, justice and institutional sustainability.
