Epistemic–Praxeological Articulation of Generalized Language Systems in Heterogeneous Relational Systems

This paper proposes generalized language systems (GLSs) as a bounded comparative category for studying how distinctions acquire operative interpretation, guide practice, and persist or change through historical transmission. The framework distinguishes an investigator’s encounter domain from a language system attributed within that domain. Five analytical roles—distinctions, uptake, operations, criteria of use, and retention or revision—are assessed through three linked functions: articulated differentiation, consequential use, and historical carryover. This permits a distinction among the current operation of a system, documented emergence, diachronic continuation, and explanation of their causes. Conditional feedback representations describe possible relations between articulation and changes in practical encounters; comparative cases span natural language, mathematics, measurement, embodied coordination, institutions, and artificial-agent protocols. The analysis specifies evidential controls for distinguishing operative articulation from observer-imposed description, structural resemblance from historical connection, and coordination from normative legitimacy. Boundary stress tests examine recoding by observers, fixed-rule systems, and historically different processes with matching outputs. Its contribution is a proposed framework for comparative investigation rather than a demonstrated cross-domain causal law. Its adequacy remains subject to domain-specific case testing and comparison with narrower explanations.
