Perbedaan Pengetahuan Ibu Hamil Trimester III Tentang Skrining Hipotiroid Kongenital Sebelum dan Sesudah Diberikan Edukasi Dengan Media E-Booklet

Background: Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is one of the most common endocrine disorders in newborns and is a major cause of preventable intellectual disability when not detected and treated early. The global prevalence of CH is estimated at approximately 1 in 3,000 live births and may increase significantly in iodine-deficient areas, reaching 1 in 300–900 live births. Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (CHS) is an early detection effort in newborns to prevent impaired growth and development. Education about CHS is important for pregnant women as part of preparation before childbirth. Objective: To determine the difference in knowledge among third-trimester pregnant women regarding Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (CHS) before and after receiving education using an e-booklet. Methods: This study was conducted at the Obstetrics Polyclinic of RSD Mangusada from February to April 2026 using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 35 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Knowledge was measured using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The mean knowledge score before the intervention was 66.90 and increased to 95.00 after the intervention, representing an increase of 28.10 points. All respondents demonstrated an increase in knowledge. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 < ? (0.05), indicating a significant difference in knowledge before and after education using the e-booklet. Conclusion: There is a difference in the level of knowledge among third-trimester pregnant women regarding Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (CHS) before and after receiving education via an e-booklet at Mangusada Regional Hospital, indicating that such education is effective in increasing the respondents knowledge
