Peran Program MBG Dalam Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Dan Kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia Di Indonesia

This study aims to analyze the role of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) and the Subsidized Program for Poor Groups (SPPG) in improving the welfare of lower-class workers in Indonesia. Human resource development is a key priority in addressing structural poverty caused by limited access to nutrition, education, and economic opportunities. The MBG and SPPG programs serve as government interventions through social policies that not only fulfill basic needs but also enhance the economic capacity of beneficiaries. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method involving 25 beneficiary families in Central Java and East Java. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the MBG program contributes to improving family health and productivity through better nutritional intake. In addition, the reduction in household food expenditure allows families to allocate resources to more productive sectors, such as education and small-scale businesses. The program also stimulates local economic circulation through the involvement of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the distribution process. However, challenges remain, including targeting accuracy, limited management capacity, and low public awareness of balanced nutrition. Overall, the MBG and SPPG programs align with Keynesian theory in promoting consumption and local economic growth, while also contributing to sustainable human resource development.
