Pengetahuan Ibu, Dukungan Keluarga, dan Pola Laktasi pada Bayi Usia 0-24 Bulan: Studi Cross-Sectional

Background: Lactation patterns are influenced by maternal breastfeeding knowledge and family support. Data from June to November 2025 showed that only 34 of 85 postpartum mothers maintained optimal breastfeeding practices. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge, family support, and lactation patterns among infants aged 0–24 months in the working area of Tampo Public Health Center. Methods: This quantitative analytical observational study used a cross-sectional design. The population comprised 85 breastfeeding mothers, of whom 70 were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: Among 32 respondents with moderate knowledge, 7 (23.3%) had good lactation patterns, while 23 (76.7%) had poor patterns. Maternal knowledge was significantly associated with lactation patterns (p = 0.001; OR = 5.476). Family support was also significantly associated with lactation patterns (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Maternal knowledge and family support were significantly associated with lactation patterns among infants aged 0–24 months in the working area of Tampo Public Health Center. Healthcare professionals should strengthen breastfeeding education, breastfeeding classes, and family-based counseling to promote appropriate lactation practices.
