LAB #4913 NEUTRAL: LEDGER BENCH: Apply filter: Session = NY_OPEN — improves win rate from 31.9% to 38.6% (+6.7pp, n=811 — E8 Intelligence Research
IDEA: Adjustment made to the live model — verify against the backtests: Apply filter: Session = NY_OPEN — improves win rate from 31.9% to 38.6% (+6.7pp, n=811) SAME-WINDOW EFFECT: The filter would have removed most of the current live window's trades, not saved them. Every logged entry sits between 10:25 and 11:45 CET — that is the London/NY overlap, not NY_OPEN (typically ~15:30 CET / 09:30 ET). Under a strict NY_OPEN definition, EURUSD, XAUUSD, AUDUSD, NZDUSD, GBPUSD, EURJPY, USDCHF and USDCAD entries would all be filtered out, including the two winners (USDCHF, USDCAD). Net effect on this window: fewer trades, and the realized PnL would go from +2W/-3L to zero trades — no improvement, just abstention. OVER-TIME PROJECTION: A +6.7pp win-rate lift on n=811 is statistically meaningful (roughly 3-4 sigma if the sample is clean), but 38.6% is still a losing win rate unless average R:R is well above 1.65. The real risk is that NY_OPEN is a low-frequency bucket — if it's only ~10-15% of Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK. Part of the E8 Intelligence Research series.
