Vedanta 2.0: Existence, Human Consciousness, and the Illusion of Treating the Medium as Ultimate Reality, hindi-
Description / Abstract (English) Human beings are part of existence, yet they possess the capacity to question existence, interpret experience, and revise their understanding. This paper explores the relationship between existence, human consciousness, and the conceptual instruments through which reality is understood. Developed within the philosophical framework of Vedanta 2.0, the paper proposes that human consciousness is a known medium through which a part of existence can examine its own being and environment. It distinguishes this epistemic proposition from the stronger ontological hypothesis that existence produces consciousness for the purpose of knowing itself, which remains an open philosophical question rather than an established fact. Through a conceptual and comparative discussion of selected ideas from the Upanishads, Vedanta, Buddhist philosophy, and Jain philosophy, the paper examines the distinction between a medium of understanding and ultimate reality. It also critically discusses religious symbols, beliefs, institutions, personality worship, scientific inquiry, and the intellectual heritage of India. The paper argues that the usefulness of a belief, symbol, teacher, scripture, or theory does not by itself establish its ultimate metaphysical validity. Intellectual freedom begins when human beings can examine even their most cherished beliefs without abandoning reason, humility, or respect for others. Vedanta 2.0 is presented as a developing philosophical proposal, open to criticism, further comparative research, and revision. 7. 8.
