Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now widely used in academic and daily activities, yet its acceptance may differ across user groups. This study measures the level of AI acceptance among university students and the general public, examines the effect of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on behavioral intention, and tests differences between the two groups. A quantitative survey based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was conducted with 49 respondents (30 students and 19 members of the public). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, path analysis, and the Mann–Whitney test. AI acceptance was high (M = 3,60). Perceived ease of use significantly affected perceived usefulness (β = 0,830) and behavioral intention (β = 0,448), whereas the effect of perceived usefulness on behavioral intention was not significant (β = 0,280). Behavioral intention positively affected daily AI use (β = 0,411) but explained only a small share of its variance (R² = 0,169). No significant differences were found between students and the public on any variable. The findings suggest that ease of use is the key to AI adoption, so simple interfaces and user training should be prioritised.
