Pendampingan Sadar Desa Wisata Berbasis Lima Dimensi Bagi Pemuda Desa Kemujan Karimunjawa

This article analyses a community service program that developed a five-dimensional tourism-village awareness approach for young people in Kemujan Village, Karimunjawa District, Jepara Regency. Funded through the 2024 State University Operational Assistance (BOPTN) scheme, the program was implemented through two field visits in September 2024 and involved approximately 35 young participants with diverse backgrounds, including general youth and tourism actors. A participatory approach was used through potential-and-problem mapping, socialization, training, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), action-plan formulation, and reflective evaluation. Evaluation was qualitative, drawing on observation, FGD notes, documentation, participant reflection, and the action plan; no pre-test or post-test was administered. The mentoring process indicated strengthened participant perspectives on local assets, tourism services, digital promotion, environmental sustainability, and the need for collaboration. The FGD also revealed coordination problems among local actors and participants’ perceptions of limited local community positions within parts of the tourism value chain, including accommodation businesses. The process generated five dimensions of tourism-village awareness: potential, service, digital, environmental, and collaborative awareness. The main output was an action plan aimed at connecting youth, tourism actors, and the village government. This five-dimensional framework is contextual rather than a universally validated model and therefore requires longer-term mentoring and further testing in other tourism villages.
