Recursos terapêuticos aplicáveis à capsulite adesiva
Introduction: Adhesive capsulitis is an inflammatory condition that progresses to fibrosis of the shoulder capsule; it is characterized by a reduction in active and passive range of motion—particularly internal and external rotation—accompanied by pain, with treatment typically lasting an average of two years. Numerous therapeutic modalities are available to alleviate pain and improve range of motion during the course of treatment. Objective: To analyze the efficacy of therapeutic modalities in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis. Methodology: This study is a narrative literature review. Searches were conducted in the PEDro, PubMed, and SciELO databases using the descriptors "Adhesive capsulitis," "Frozen shoulder," "Physiotherapy," and "Rehabilitation," employed either individually or in combination. Results: Following methodological criteria, the search yielded 35 studies, from which 15 articles were selected. Conclusion: Therapeutic interventions have proven effective in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis, resulting in pain reduction and gains in range of motion (ROM), provided they are implemented in combination.
