Hubungan Beban Kerja dan Kelelahan Kerja Pada Pekerja Housekeeping Vila di Kabupaten Badung, Bali

Background: Housekeeping workers in luxury villas perform physically demanding tasks under strict service standards and time constraints, which may increase workload and contribute to work fatigue. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the association between workload and work fatigue among housekeeping workers in villas in Badung Regency, Bali. Methods: This analytical observational study employed a cross-sectional design involving 43 housekeeping workers from two luxury villas in Badung Regency. Total sampling was applied. Subjective workload was assessed using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX), while work fatigue was measured using the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test with a significance level of 0.05. Results: More than half of the respondents experienced high workload (53.49%), while 48.84% experienced high work fatigue. The dominant contributors to workload were performance, temporal demand, effort, and physical demand. Fatigue symptoms were predominantly reported in the physical dimension, particularly whole-body fatigue and back pain. A significant association was found between workload and work fatigue (p<0.001). Workers with high workload had an 11.33 odd greater likelihood of experiencing high work fatigue than those with low workload (OR=11.33; 95% CI: 2.69–47.72). Conclusion: High workload is significantly associated with work fatigue among housekeeping workers in luxury villas. Regular monitoring of workload and fatigue, together with appropriate workload management, is recommended to reduce the risk of work fatigue.
