Community Empowerment through Household Food Processing and Local Resource-Based Entrepreneurship

Community empowerment through household food processing and local resource-based entrepreneurship represents a potential strategy for strengthening household economic capacity and promoting sustainable local development. This study aims to examine the utilization of local food resources, the development of processing skills, entrepreneurial capacity, and the factors influencing the sustainability of community-based food enterprises. A qualitative case study approach is proposed, using semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and document analysis to explore participants’ experiences and practices. Data are analyzed thematically to identify patterns related to resource utilization, product innovation, business management, marketing, community participation, and institutional support. The discussion highlights the importance of transforming locally available commodities into value-added products through appropriate processing techniques, quality control, and market-oriented innovation. It also emphasizes that technical training alone may be insufficient without complementary competencies in cost calculation, pricing, promotion, and business planning. Collaboration among households, community organizations, and supporting institutions can facilitate access to resources, mentoring, and potential markets. The study provides a conceptual basis for developing integrated empowerment programs that connect practical skills with entrepreneurship and long-term business sustainability.
