Recovering Genetic Diversity in Threatened Medicinal Plants: A Scoping Review and Evidence Map

Retrospective protocol for a scoping review (evidence map) of genetic diversity and genetic outcomes of conservation interventions in threatened medicinal plants (PCC: threatened medicinal plant taxa; genetic diversity, structure and genetic outcomes of in situ/ex situ conservation; global). Searches in Web of Science, Scopus and PubMed were first run on 28 September–1 October 2026 and re-run on 21 October 2026 after the original exports were lost (12 searches; 2,378 records; 1,246 unique publications after deduplication). This protocol was registered retrospectively on 31 October 2026, after searching, deduplication, screening and partial data charting; post hoc methodological decisions are described in the relevant fields. Reporting follows PRISMA-ScR.
