Analisis Pengendalian Persediaan Direct Material Menggunakan Metode EOQ di PT Tomoe Valve Batam
PT Tomoe Valve Batam is an industrial valve manufacturer with a make-to-order production system, which requires accurate direct material inventory control. Although the company already uses an ERP system integrated across departments, material requirements are still calculated manually in Microsoft Excel. This practice leaves ordering and holding costs unbalanced and contributed to stockouts in 2025, when purchases of the 700Z size 65 valve material were 7,165 units lower than usage. This study analyzes the existing inventory control system and determines the optimal order quantity using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, safety stock, and reorder point (ROP). A descriptive quantitative approach was applied, using primary data from observations and interviews and secondary data on material purchases and usage in 2025. The results show an EOQ of 1,032 units per order with an ordering frequency of 27 times per year, a safety stock of 483 units at a 95% service level, and a reorder point of 6,031 units. Applying EOQ could reduce total inventory cost from Rp36,612,469.85 to Rp32,888,730.89, a saving of Rp3,723,738.96 (10.17%). These parameters can be integrated into the company’s ERP system to make ordering decisions more measurable and to reduce the risk of stockouts.
