Direct Access to N –H Carbazoles via Sn(OTf)2–Promoted Benzannulations of 2–Methylindoles with Ynones

Abstract A convenient Sn(OTf)2-promoted benzannulation reaction for the construction of N–H carbazoles from simple and readily available 2-methylindoles and ynones is described. A variety of N–H carbazole compounds have been successfully synthesized in moderate to good yields.
