Diagnóstico inmunoserológico o molecular de enfermedades infecciosas prevalentes en habitantes de las parroquias La América, Julcuy, La Unión y Membrillal.
Infectious diseases represent a persistent challenge for rural communities, where living conditions and limited access to basic services threaten their health. The objective was to determine the immunoserological or molecular diagnosis of prevalent infectious diseases in inhabitants of the parishes of La América, Julcuy, La Unión, and Membrillal. Methodologically, a quantitative, descriptive, observational, cross-sectional approach was used, with a stratified sampling of 60 participants. The results showed that sociodemographic and socioeconomic factors reflect a predominantly adult and single population, with incomes of less than $100 (68.3%) and critical deficiencies in sanitation (26.7%) and access to drinking water (20.0%). In viral agents, the prevalence was zero (0.0%) for dengue NS1, rotavirus, and adenovirus.in bacterial agents, the total prevalence of Helicobacter pylori was 25% (n=15). Regarding the detection of Salmonella spp., there was a low incidence of 1.66% (n=1). It is concluded that the presence of these agents is linked to local risk factors, underscoring the need to strengthen laboratory monitoring to prevent infectious outbreaks in these parishes, despite the low prevalence of active cases detected at the time of sampling.
