5 of 6: TST Philosophy of History
[Major release: Halloween 2026 Series] The past was real, but historical writing is not the past itself. Empirical narrative realism distinguishes the past from the rational narratives later constructed to represent them. Past events were empirical occurrences in the material world; what remains are empirical traces. Historical writing organizes those traces into rational accounts. The position develops the ideas presented in Chapters 18, 20, and 26 of 30 Philosophers, published in 2024.
