From Scarcity to Innovation: Exploring How Resource Constraints Foster Creativity in India.
This study redefines resource constraints as catalysts rather than barriers to innovation within Indian organizations. Grounded in Resource-Based View, Bricolage, Constraint-Induced, and Creativity theories, it evaluates how employee creativity mediates and organizational flexibility moderates the link between scarcity and innovation. Analyzing survey data from 300 respondents using quantitative methods, the findings reveal high instrument reliability (alpha = 0.943{--}0.959) and strong positive correlations between resource constraints, creativity (r = 0.804), and innovation (r = 0.874). Ultimately, resource scarcity—coupled with organizational adaptability—fuels creative problem-solving and sustainable innovation, offering practical insights for managers and policymakers leveraging frugal innovation strategies.
