Pelatihan Pemodelan 3D Pesawat Terbang Menggunakan Aplikasi SimplePlanes bagi Siswa SMK PL Leonardo Klaten

Institut Teknologi Dirgantara Adisutjipto (ITDA) is committed to enhancing literacy in aerospace science and technology through community service programs. This activity was designed as a structured intervention to address partner problems at SMK PL Leonardo Klaten, where 10th-grade students were identified as lacking basic understanding of aircraft structural components and 3D modelling concepts. As a solution, the Informatics Study Program collaborated with the Aerospace Engineering Study Program to conduct 3D aircraft modelling training using the SimplePlanes application. The training material covered socialization on aircraft structures, introduction to software features, and hands-on practice in designing desktop-based 3D models controllable via keyboard. Based on post-training evaluation using a Google Form visual test completed by 200 student respondents, an average comprehension level of 80% regarding aircraft components was achieved. Furthermore, performance assessment results showed that 90% of students mastered the modelling tools, and 70% were able to design and virtually flight-test simple 3D aircraft models.
