A Shared Control Layer for Australian Roads
Road transport may be approaching the point where AI, communications and autonomous systems make a shared control layer feasible, in the same way that networking protocols made large-scale digital communications feasible. This paper sets out that proposition: a dedicated control layer, defined by an open protocol, that coordinates vehicles separately from the vehicles that carry people and freight.
