3 of 6: TST Doxastic Formation: Public Belief, Tribe, and Worldview
[Major release: Halloween 2026 Series] Beliefs are shaped by layers of influence. They take shape through the interaction of public belief, tribe, and worldview. Public belief supplies the broader stock of acceptable perspectives. Tribe filters that stock through belonging and social pressure. Worldview provides the deeper personal structure through which inherited beliefs are interpreted, defended, or rejected. And minds take a per-topic perspective. The conclusion is that worldview beliefs tend to be publicly supplied, tribally filtered, and personally organized. The position developed here originated primarily in Chapters 7, 18, and 27 of 30 Philosophers, published in 2024.
