Longitudinal Progression of Bulbar Symptoms in Oropharyngeal Cancer Survivors: A 10-Year Cohort Study

In this longitudinal cohort study of 344 long-term survivors who completed paired survivorship surveys approximately 10 years apart, swallowing difficulty, choking/coughing, and voice/speech difficulty worsened significantly over time. Swallowing-related quality of life and diet function declined, while feeding tube dependence and reported histories of pneumonia and hospitalization for pneumonia since treatment increased.
