The Porozhniakov Hypothesis
The Porozhniakov hypothesis unifies into a single question seven physical limitson access to information that are usually treated separately: capacity, causality, signal dilution, the growth of required precision, the non-locality of entanglement, destruction by measurement, and the computational complexity of decoding. Itstates that the trace of an event is always preserved, while access to it is blockedeach time by a different mechanism, and each mechanism operates exactly to thenecessary extent. This yields an alternative: either the independent limits coincideby chance, or they share a common cause — in which case a quantitative relationbetween them must exist.
