*Title:* Prevalence, Causes, and Management of Common Skin Diseases: A Comprehensive Review
Prevalence, Causes, and Management of Common Skin Diseases: A Comprehensive Review This research paper by Hazrat Bilal, Department of Chemistry, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Pakistan, presents a comprehensive review of common skin diseases. Skin is the largest organ of the human body and acts as a first line of defense. However, skin diseases affect more than 900 million people globally. In Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, fungal infections, acne vulgaris, eczema, scabies and psoriasis are highly prevalent due to hot and humid climate, poor hygiene awareness and excessive use of unprescribed cosmetics. This paper discusses the classification of skin diseases into infectious, inflammatory, and autoimmune categories, their major causes including environmental, microbial, genetic and lifestyle factors, and current management strategies. It emphasizes personal hygiene, early diagnosis, proper dermatological treatment, and public awareness to reduce the burden of skin diseases. The study is intended for students, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
