Kombinasi Akupresur dan Relaksasi Napas Dalam terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah Pasien Hipertensi di Ruang Resusitasi
Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that can cause serious complications if untreated, particularly in emergency department resuscitation room patients with severely elevated blood pressure. The combination of acupressure and deep breathing relaxation is a non-pharmacological intervention that may help reduce blood pressure as an adjunct to standard medical therapy. Objective: This case study aimed to analyze the application of this combination on blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Methods: A case study with a nursing process approach was conducted on three patients who met the inclusion criteria in the resuscitation room of the emergency department of Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Regional General Hospital, Samarinda. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and physical examination, and blood pressure was measured with a digital sphygmomanometer before and after the intervention. The intervention consisted of pressure on five acupressure points for 20 minutes accompanied by deep breathing relaxation. Results: Blood pressure decreased in all three patients: from 158/75 to 130/70 mmHg in the first patient, from 171/86 to 133/83 mmHg in the second, and from 177/106 to 140/92 mmHg in the third. Conclusion: This combination may be considered an adjunctive non-pharmacological intervention in emergency nursing care for hypertensive patients. Larger controlled studies are recommended.
