YAUM AS-SUUQ SEBAGAI UPAYA PENUMBUHAN JIWA KEWIRAUSAHAAN DAN PELESTARIAN WARISAN BUDAYA SISWA SD ISLAM CENDEKIA MUDA GOWA

Entrepreneurship is an essential competency that needs to be cultivated from an early age so that young people develop creativity, courage to take risks, independence, and basic financial management skills. Most elementary school students still have limited understanding of buying and selling processes, pricing, and money management, while entrepreneurship learning at school remains dominated by theoretical delivery without direct practical experience. This community service activity aimed to foster students’ entrepreneurial spirit while instilling appreciation for local cultural heritage through the “Yaum As-Suuq” (Market Day) program themed “Our Cultural Heritage Wealth,” organized in collaboration between the lecturer team of the Entrepreneurship Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Makassar, and SD Islam Cendekia Muda. The activity was held on 15 July 2026 and involved all 72 students, consisting of 46 boys and 26 girls, divided into several levels according to their respective classes. The implementation method consisted of a preparation stage, an implementation stage involving a market simulation in which students acted as sellers of local cultural products, and an evaluation stage. The results showed increased enthusiasm, courage in communicating and offering products, basic understanding of buying and selling transactions, cooperation among students, and appreciation of local cultural and culinary wealth. This activity confirms that experiential entrepreneurship learning combined with local cultural content is effective as a medium for entrepreneurial character education among elementary school students.
