An inclusiveness rating for higher education: An international case study
Higher education and business schools are facing significant challenges with regard to inclusiveness and diversity (gender, disability, social openness, etc.). Despite these challenges, there is a lack of effective tools available to assess the level of inclusiveness and diversity within higher education institutions. In response, this paper proposes a comparison of four international universities and business schools based on an innovative model. The findings indicate that while institutions may have similar overall levels of inclusiveness and diversity, there can be significant variation across stakeholders or dimensions. This tool is highly valuable for assessing inclusiveness and diversity at different levels within higher education institutions, as well as identifying effective strategies for improvement and fostering a community of best practices, even though it has limitations. Thus, it represents an important step towards promoting social equity and diversity in higher education.
