Efeitos da mobilização neural na dor e na funcionalidade de indivíduos com Síndrome do Túnel do Carpo: revisão integrativa

Background: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a compressive neuropathy of the median nerve that causes pain and functional impairment of the hand. Among conservative approaches, neural mobilization stands out for its potential to reduce symptoms and improve functionality. Pourpose: To analyze the scientific evidence regarding the effects of neural mobilization techniques on pain and functionality in individuals with CTS. Methods: This is an integrative literature review conducted using the PubMed/MEDLINE, PEDro, and SciELO databases, considering studies published between 2021 and 2026 in Portuguese, English, or Spanish that investigated the effects of neural mobilization in adults with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Results: A total of 191 studies were identified, of which eight met the eligibility criteria. Overall, the studies demonstrated reductions in pain and symptoms, as well as improvements in functionality, following interventions involving neural mobilization, median nerve neuromobilization, and neural and tendon gliding exercises. Some studies showed superior results when neuromobilization was combined with conventional physical therapy, whereas others found no additional benefits from complementary interventions. Conclusion: Neural mobilization and neural and tendon gliding exercises appear to be effective in reducing pain and improving functionality in individuals with CTS. However, further studies with greater methodological rigor are needed to strengthen the evidence.
