The Development, Validation, and Feasibility Study of the MindCARE Module: A Mindfulness-Based Intervention with Islamic Integration for Teachers

Stress among teachers is a pressing issue requiring targeted interventions to enhance their mental well-being. This study introduces the MindCARE (Mindfulness for Compassion and Relief of Stress) module, a mindfulness-based intervention designed explicitly for the Muslim population in Indonesia. Developed using the Sidek Module Development Model, the module underwent rigorous validation by six subject matter experts, achieving a high content validity index score of .90 and a reliability score of .88 (Cronbach’s Alpha). A 4-week single-group pilot study involving 14 female early childhood education teachers in Bantul, Yogyakarta, evaluated its feasibility and preliminary within-group change among Indonesian Muslim teachers experiencing stress. The findings indicated that the module was both feasible and acceptable, with preliminary within-group increases in psychological well-being score, particularly in social relations and acceptance domains. However, these preliminary changes were observed without a control group and should be interpreted with caution given the small, uncontrolled sample. These preliminary estimates can inform the design of a larger randomised controlled trial to test the module's efficacy in reducing teacher stress and enhancing overall well-being, in support of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being)
