Peran Pola Asuh Orang Tua dan Teman Sebaya Dalam Perilaku Seksual Pranikah Pada Remaja: Studi Analitik

Background: Premarital sexual behavior among adolescents refers to sexual activity engaged in by individuals before marriage. This issue warrants attention due to adolescents' limited knowledge regarding sexuality and the fact that 14% of adolescents in Indonesia engage in premarital sexual activity at an early age behavior that carries the risk of various reproductive health problems coupled with a curiosity about sexuality that is difficult to satisfy. Objective: This study aims to analyze relationship between parenting styles and peers and premarital sexual behavior among adolescents. Methods: The research design employed a correlational analytical approach with a cross-sectional design. The independent variables were parenting style and peers, and dependent variable was premarital sexual behavior. The population consisted of 134 students, with a sample of 51 students. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling, and research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis employed descriptive and inferential analysis. Statistical testing used the Spearman rank correlation with a significance level of 0.05. Results: The results of the analysis of relationship between parenting rearing styles and premarital sexual behavior among adolescents showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.440. The results of the analysis of the relationship between peers and premarital sexual behavior among adolescents showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.471. Conclusion: Future researchers are encouraged to conduct a more in-depth analysis of the factors that cause adolescents to continue engaging in premarital sexual behavior despite receiving democratic parenting. This is necessary to identify other dominant factors that contribute to development of adolescent sexual behavior.
