MANAJEMEN STRATEGIK LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS LULUSAN: STUDI PADA SMAN 1 CAMPURDARAT

Objective: This study aims to describe the strategic management process applied by a public senior high school in a semi-rural area to improve graduate quality, covering strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation. Methods: A descriptive qualitative approach was employed at SMAN 1 Campurdarat, Tulungagung. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principals, the Double Track coordinator, and the guidance counsellor, and documentation, then analysed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña and validated through triangulation. Results: Strategy formulation began with the vision, mission, and SWOT analysis, producing four strategic pillars: curriculum development, human resource development, student achievement improvement, and the Double Track flagship program. Implementation was delegated to field coordinators under the principal's direct supervision. Evaluation was conducted through weekly internal meetings, monthly plenary meetings, and semester analysis of achievement; the share of graduates admitted to public universities rose from 39.9% in 2019 to 47.6% in 2024. Novelty: This study shows how a semi-rural public school integrates a vocational strategy into the full strategic management cycle to prepare graduates who do not continue to higher education, a context rarely examined in studies of urban schools and madrasah.
