Kelayakan Finansial dan Switching Value Usahatani Padi Organik Di Kabupaten Pringsewu

The agricultural sector faces the challenge of soil fertility degradation due to long-term dependence on chemical inputs and global commodity price volatility. Pringsewu Regency has great potential as a food granary, but the adoption of organic rice farming is still hindered by risk vulnerability during the transition period. This study aims to compare the cost structure and income of organic and non-organic rice farming, as well as to analyze the financial feasibility of organic rice farming in Pringsewu Regency. The research method uses a mixed-method approach with the involvement of 36 farmer respondents (18 organic farmers and 18 non-organic farmers). Data analysis was conducted through financial calculations of the farming business, specifically investment indicators: Net Present Value, Net B/C, Gross B/C, Internal Rate of Return, Payback Period, and switching value. The research results show that organic rice farming requires an average fixed cost of Rp4,309,715, while non-organic rice farming requires Rp3,644,123. The variable cost for organic rice is Rp32,403,354, and for non-organic rice, it is Rp26,145,338. The revenue from organic rice farming is Rp56,520,960, and from non-organic rice farming, it is Rp51,974,000. Financially, organic rice farming has proven to be very feasible for development, as indicated by an NPV value of Rp212,384,240, a Net B/C of 2.69, a Gross B/C of 1.56, an IRR of 33.98%, and a Payback Period of 2 years, 2 months, and 12 days. The switching value analysis results show that the percentage change in costs should not exceed 54%, and the decrease in revenue (price or production) should not exceed 35%. These findings confirm that the economic feasibility of organic farming is very promising in providing high returns, thereby accelerating the transition to sustainable agriculture and supporting national food security.
