The Influence of the Kahoot-Based Interactive Learning Method on Learning Outcomes in Islamic Religious Education for Grade VII Students at SMP Negeri 2 Kutawaluya, Karawang Regency
This research is motivated by low student engagement in the learning process and the dominance of conventional, often monotonous, teaching methods particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) classes. This situation necessitates innovation in instructional methods capable of stimulating student interest and active participation. One potential solution explored in this study is the implementation of an interactive learning method based on the digital platform Kahoot. The study aims to analyze the impact of using Kahoot on the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Kutawaluya, Karawang Regency. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a pretest-posttest control group experimental design. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental group that used Kahoot and a control group that followed conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, using instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis involved both descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically the paired-sample t-test. The results indicate a significant improvement in the learning outcomes of students in the experimental group compared to those in the control group. The higher average posttest scores in the experimental group suggest that the Kahoot-based interactive learning method is effective in enhancing students' understanding, motivation, and engagement in Islamic Religious Education.
