Cardiovascular Nursing Across the Prevention Continuum: A Commentary on the Prevention & Intervention 2026 Abstract Collection
The Prevention & Intervention 2026 abstract collection highlights how nursing and midwifery research can address behavioural, psychosocial and organisational gaps across the cardiovascular prevention continuum. This commentary examines the implications for adherence support, cardiovascular follow-up after pregnancy, heart failure care, cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention after intervention. It calls for prospective and interventional studies to test nurse-led approaches, alongside sustained investment in research capacity, mentorship and multidisciplinary collaboration.
