LOGIKA PASAR DALAM PEMBIAYAAN SEKOLAH ISLAM SWASTA ELITIS: TINJAUAN KRITIS TERHADAP KOMERSIALISASI DAN DIFERENSIASI LAYANAN PENDIDIKAN

This study aims to analyze the operation of market logic in the financing of elite Islamic private schools and its implications for educational justice, particularly for marginalized (mustadh'afin) groups. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data were collected from scholarly journal articles, books, research reports, and relevant policy documents related to educational financing, marketization of education, Islamic schooling, and Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of capital. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which involves three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that elite Islamic private schools increasingly operate within a market logic framework, where differentiation strategies, institutional reputation, religious identity, and academic excellence function as symbolic capital. Through a process of capital conversion, symbolic capital is transformed into economic capital that supports institutional financial sustainability. However, this process also contributes to the commodification of education and strengthens social filtering mechanisms that limit access to quality education for economically disadvantaged groups.
