Gravity as a response to a two-scale nonlinear medium

Gravity describes the attraction of masses and the motion of celestial bodies, and in general relativity - the curvature of space-time. The paper considers a different way of describing the same interaction: the physical vacuum is not a void, but a medium capable of deformation, preserving the memory of deformation and transmitting disturbances. The aim of the study is to find out what observed properties of gravity can be obtained from such a representation and where the boundaries of the model are.

Abstract

Gravity describes the attraction of masses and the motion of celestial bodies, and in general relativity - the curvature of space-time. The paper considers a different way of describing the same interaction: the physical vacuum is not a void, but a medium capable of deformation, preserving the memory of deformation and transmitting disturbances. The aim of the study is to find out what observed properties of gravity can be obtained from such a representation and where the boundaries of the model are.
