A Mathematical Model Proposal for Sustainable Lean Reverse Logistics System
Dimensions of logistics can be handled in four different ways. These are inbound logistics, in-plant logistics, outbound logistics and reverse logistics. Reasons such as shortening product obsolescence, manufacturers' desire to reduce costs by using materials in returned products, and customers' purchasing tendencies shifting to electronic commerce have led to reverse logistics, one of the dimensions of logistics, being frequently discussed in academic and industry circles. In this study, a model proposal with sustainable and lean logistics perspective is presented. This model is a mathematical model that expresses the use of Cross-Dock and Milk-Run methodologies, which are lean transportation methods, in reverse logistics operation. This study aims to contribute to the gap in the literature regarding the number of studies with lean perspective among reverse logistics studies and is to reveal the operation structure model that will eliminate waste in reverse logistics operations, accelerate the flow, and provide efficiency with lean logistics techniques.
