ARION D5.1 Project Management and Quality Assurance – ARION Project Handbook

This document is Deliverable D5.1 Project Management and Quality Assurance (the ARION Project Handbook) of ARION (Advancing Research Assessment through integrated Open practices and Narrative), a Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Action funded under Grant Agreement No. 101287335 ARION brings together thirteen beneficiaries and one associated partner from eleven countries to turn the principles of responsible research assessment (RRA) championed by CoARA and DORA into everyday institutional practice. It does so through four intervention tools, namely Open Infrastructure-enabled Digital Researcher Profiles, Narrative CVs, Institutional Model Policies and HR Toolkits, which are adapted and validated in eight pilots and scaled through Early Adopter Programmes and European reform networks. The Handbook is the reference guide for the day-to-day management of the project. It presents the consortium and work plan, including work packages, tasks, deliverables and milestones. It describes ARION’s governance structure and management bodies, internal communication and collaboration tools, EU visibility requirements, and administrative, contractual and financial procedures, including reporting to the European Research Executive Agency (REA). It also defines the project’s quality standards and internal peer-review process for deliverables, milestone verification and key performance indicators, the risk management methodology and initial risk register, and the arrangements for ethics, data protection, gender equality, inclusion and research data management.
