From Basin Evidence to Better Decisions: how the GLIAG GSB Intelligence Platform (GIP) connects geology, business and public policy across the Guyana–Suriname Basin

The Guyana–Suriname Basin now carries two petroleum states on one geological system: Guyana produced about 906,000 bbl/d in September 2026, and Suriname's GranMorgu development in Block 58 is on schedule for first oil in 2028. Yet the evidence needed to judge the basin is still held in two national registers, contract summaries and scattered notices, essays and news. This essay explains how the GLIAG GSB Intelligence Platform (GIP) joins that evidence and turns it into decision support for explorers, business developers, investors, government, suppliers and universities. Using the GIP screen (Rev 0.22.110, 24 October 2026) as its main figure, it reads the platform item by item: 159 public wellheads (109 Guyana, 50 Suriname), 72 licence polygons, discovery positions, pending-coordinate wells, the SED-01 sedimentology module, 291 GLIAG essays and 90 Basin Watch editions, in one source-stamped frame. It sets out the evidence register behind the screen, the three working perspectives the platform was designed from (petroleum geology, business development, public policy), and its intended educational key for universities in Suriname and Guyana. A FACT · MISSING · GLIAG JUDGEMENT · TRIGGER box separates verified counts from open gaps and from GLIAG's own judgement. An amendment register records the changes from the author's draft (Revision 1.0) to this edition. Abstract

Companion records: Petroleum Systems Analysis of the Guyana–Suriname Basin (doi:10.5281/zenodo.23815989) and One Basin, Every Licence (doi:10.5281/zenodo.23819316).
