Bridging A Communication Gap In Early Breast Cancer Awareness Education: Defining Small Palpable Lumps Using The Braks Coin Concept
Breast cancer poses a great public health concern for most countries, including Ghana. Physical breast self-examination is an important strategy for early breast cancer detection in many resource-constrained countries. Educational campaigns organized to increase breast cancer awareness often emphasize the importance of early breast cancer detection and treatment. The audience is encouraged to seek medical help when they feel a small breast lump during self-breast examination, without defining what a small breast lump looks like. We recommend using the BRAKS coin concept to bridge this information gap.
