Roskapussi ihmisen peilinä
This article examines the significance of waste for the view of humanity in Marie Kajava’s play In the margin I wrote some shit about my soft skin (2023). The analysis draws especially on Rosi Braidotti’s concepts of the nomadic and posthuman subject and Jane Bennett’s idea of thing‑power. The discussion is supplemented by perspectives from social waste research. The play is composed of textual fragments—such as entries from Kajava’s work diary. This recycled material forms a monologue play in which the protagonist travels the world and examines traces left by humans. The article reflects on what happens to dramaturgy when it is composed of recycled material and what kind of thoughts it raises about art and its significance today.
