SOLAR (GEOMAGNETIC) ACTIVITY (1948–2021) AND CRUDE DEATH RATE WITH A 2-YEAR LAG (1950–2023): R=0.75 (R=0.76)
This report employs a methodological approach based on the work of A. L. Chizhevsky. Years within solar cycles were numbered according to the standard convention used in solar astrophysics and grouped by these numbers. Subsequently, the mean values of Wolf numbers and the geomagnetic Ap index were compared with the mean values of the crude death rate (deaths per 1,000 population). The comparison of the mean Wolf numbers and the geomagnetic Ap index with the mean global mortality rate revealed a strong positive correlation with a two-year time lag (correlation coefficients R=0.75 and R=0.76 respectively). The latest available UN database provides precise mortality rate estimates only up to and including 2023. The projected global mortality rates are 8.023 for 2024, 8.954 for 2025, 8.707 for 2026, and 8.388 for 2027.
