Command Architecture as Strategic Advantage in Autonomous Force Design
This article reframes autonomous force design as an organisational design problem. Eamonn Molloy applies the Spectrum of Organisational Autonomy, a six-level framework for the delegation of control from human to machine agents, across three defence function domains and two analytical registers, governance and competitive advantage. The analysis indicates that uncontrolled autonomy creep produces brittle forces, that accountability architecture is a strategic asset, and that governance failures create exploitable competitive vulnerabilities.
