The Influence of Self-Compassion in the Context of Islamic Psychology and Work Engagement on Work–Family Role Conflict among Working Women at Al Kahfi Islamic Foundation in Batam

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-compassion in the context of Islamic psychology and work engagement on work-family conflict among women working at the Al Kahfi Islamic Foundation in Batam. Women who play dual roles as workers and family members are prone to work-family conflict due to competing role demands that have the potential to reduce psychological well-being. However, self-compassion as a personal resource is believed to be able to reduce the negative impact of this conflict, and a high level of work engagement also plays an important role in suppressing the emergence of dual role conflict. This study applies a quantitative approach, and data analysis is performed using multiple regression analysis to test the influence of independent variables on dependent variables. The results show a significant influence of self-compassion in the context of Islamic psychology and work engagement on work-family conflict (R²=0.262; p<0.05). This study can be used as a reference in developing self-compassion based on Islamic values and creating a work environment that supports increased work engagement to manage dual role pressures.
